I had a Morris Mini 850 Super Delux, reg GWC324. It was awful. A rust bucket, a money pit, unreliable and very poor MPG. The worst car ever made by mankind.
In 1968 I drove an 1960 850 mini from Newport RI To San Francisco..burnt a valve somewhere along the way..a couple of Indians let me use a tree for shade and I swap in an extra head I brought with me cuz I knew the machine shop cut the seats too wide {makes heat}..and hour later off I went on my way to San Francisco to be flown to the aircraft carrier USS RANGER CVA 61 to bomb the North Vietnamese..they flew me to the ship..then they transferred me to a new ship under construction in Seattle where I ran into a car club called SAMOA...Seattle are mini owners association ...which i think is still alive ..great people and cars..the prsident had a MOKE with a built 1275 S engine..He always had best time of the salom races...even against Vettes!!! I have a 72 Mini 850 now and during this pandemic I have been making it road worthy with new bakes and both master cylinders...also, three point seat belts..that was easy and fun and worthwhile!! Minis are the best from the day i saw the first Cooper S sitting on the pier in Newport RI...love em!! Don' t know why this popped up so late in the day . However , it's a very nice example and if you hadn't have mentioned Cooper then you wouldn't have got any bad remarks!
whats with the rover grill and tail lights, was it a swap. Also what carburettors are u running S.U or Weber.

My car is too low and has too much camber for my taste,it’s sitting on the same wheels this car has but I bought the car already cambered,it’s also got a complete 95k mile usdm type R swap,interior,5lug conversion,and wing,it’s super clean but I would love your paint job on mine
Randy Jaramillo my camber is all natural camber from lowering the car. I’m on coilovers only, and the car is OG Phoenix yellow and I had the blue wrapped. You can check the car out on my IG @imjustjoshs it’s updated with new zeal coilovers and on regamasters 16x7+35 with 225/45/16 Toyo r888r.
juush pressplay wow man your car is just unbelievably gorgeous! I guess I just need to set the camber back to factory on mine! I would love to check it out but I don’t have social media! Also what shift knob is that? I am getting that same short shifter but idk what shift knob is that! Congrats on having such a nice car tho!

Interesting... looks very nice... wrong badge on the bonnet and boot? ...upper dash bar with ashtray should have been covered in black vinyl? ...where are the twin carbs? ...simple overriders with no 'eyebrows' on the chrome bumpers I think on a Mk2 Cooper? ...and 1275 badge on a 998 Cooper? Pedantic I know... put it down to envy ;)

mariol4x4 I'll try to remember but I think it was a 10x7 I had sold the car a few years back
mariol4x4 those wheels will be at most 10 x 5j anything wider needs wheel arch spats etc
look 5 x10 as had on mine don't need arches with those and imagine 165/70x10 tyres ,mk11 rear lights this is a cooper the smaller brother to the S would have had a 998cc and a single tank which this has.

Very nice mini. I'm a little confused though. I have a '69 mini and I have wind up windows. I thought only the earlier mini's had the sliding windows. Also, this car seems to have a late model grill. Never the less, great car.
Hi. It all depends where the mini was built .If it's Italian ,lnnocenti , wind up windows. South African built likewise . And Australian mini's also had wind up windows. The only British variant at that time to have wind up windows ( not including one off custom build ) was the Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet.
It's definitely not a Cooper....

The old owner had put that at the time. I was going to change that if I still kept it

+juush pressplay wheels look like minilite copies, the "J" refers to the width' was wondering what width wheels you were running
